Know about Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha
Lord Krishna is highly revered God in India. In fact many people in India greet each other with words “Radhe Radhe”, “RadheKrishna” or “Jai Shree Krishna”. This image of Radhe Krishna, which is locally known as Sri Radhavallabh ji, was actually brought by the founder of the city of Jaipur- Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. He especially went to Vrindavan to bring this idol. The specialty of this idol is that the image precisely depicts the real form of Krishna in his human birth. There are many legends attached to it. For instance it is believed that Goivind devji’s statue was actually crafted by none other than his own great grandson Bajranabh who was instructed by his own grand mother about the features of Lord Krishna’s human from. Moreover, the brajnabh didn’t craft this image all at once but attempted multiple times to make it precisely resemble the real human form of Lord Krishna. It was only when his grandmother was fully satisfied that all the features exactly match the human form of the God, that she approved the image.
Some unique features of the idol
Some of the features in radha krishna murti almost don’t change at all. For instance, the Lord is always depicted playing a flute as he was very fond of this musical instrument. Moreover the God is depicted standing at the right side while the Goddess Radha stands at the left side. Another constant aspect of radha krishna murti is that the God is shown standing with one (generally left) foot set firmly on the ground while the other that is right foot crossed over as if its big toe and a 2-3 proximate toes are touching the ground. Some say that it seems so but the crossed foot actually doesn’t actually touch the ground.
